7 bands you need to see at Slam Dunk Festival 2017

7 bands you need to see at Slam Dunk Festival 2017 | Joseph BurrowsCan you believe it’s that time of year already? That’s right, festival season is about to begin with the one and only Slam Dunk Festival.

Slam Dunk 2016 was incredible, and the 2017 lineup is even more stacked than usual. In the spirit of helping you plan ahead, here are the 7 bands you need to see at Slam Dunk Festival 2017. And guess what? They don’t clash (much).

You’re welcome.

We Are The Ocean

Slam Dunk 2017 is your LAST chance to catch We Are The Ocean before they break up. Sad face. Luckily, they’re going out in style by making a final return to the main stage. This one’s going to be special (and very, very sad).

Cute Is What We Aim For

Remember these guys? Last time they played Slam Dunk they HEADLINED in 2008. Now they’re not only back, but they’re playing their incredible debut album in full. Could anything be more Slam Dunk then a classic pop-punk album played from start to finish? I don’t think so.

With Confidence

Your new pop-punk favourites, With Confidence are making real waves on the scene. 2016’s Better Weather was a fantastic debut and their set will no doubt pull heavily from it. With a beer in hand and the sun beating down, this will be a Slam Dunk dream come true.

Deaf Havana

All These Countless Nights is one of the best releases of 2017 so far, and a stunning return to form for Deaf Havana. It’d only be right to celebrate by watching the boys play some of their biggest and best tunes over on the main stage, right?

Madina Lake

Definitely one of my favourite bookings of 2017, Madina Lake are BACK! The band have reunited in honour of the 10 year anniversary of their classic album, From Them, Through Us, To You – I wonder if that means they’ll be playing the album in full? Fingers crossed…

Enter Shikari

Take To The Skies in full. Need I say more? Enter Shikari are one of the best live bands in existence and this is your chance to see some classic tracks played live for the first time. Just imagine the absolute scenes when they drop ‘Sorry You’re Not A Winner’ on the main stage.

Against Me!

Up. The. Punx. On the back of one of my favourite albums of 2016, Against Me! are returning to Slam Dunk to headline the Signature Brew Stage. You can expect a packed crowd, a real punk show, and huge singalongs. Could there be a better way to finish your day at Slam Dunk? I doubt it.

So there you have it – the 7 bands you need to see at Slam Dunk Festival 2017!

The festival is taking over Birmingham, Leeds and Hatfield over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Slam Dunk South has already sold out, but you can still get tickets for Birmingham and Leeds! Want to come along? Head to the Slam Dunk website to pick up your tickets.

Who can’t you wait to see at Slam Dunk? Which festival date are you heading to? Let me know in the comments!

  • This is such a great round up Joe, I’m so pumped for the festival. They’ve managed to pack so many great bands into one day, it’s almost unbelievable.

So exited for We Are The Ocean and Deaf Havana and also Don Broco and Set It Off!

I’m sure I mentioned this elsewhere but I’m heading out to the Leeds date! X
